But I really don't.
What I've been up to:
Trying different tactics to get baby to sleep longer at night. Got a four hour block last night, which is all I ask, really.
Venturing out of the house once per day. It is essential to my sanity and good to get over the fear, I think.
Learning to live with a house that I constantly want to clean, but rarely can.
Getting in at least one of those "sleep when he sleeps" naps per day, though that really isn't as easy as it sounds. [It usually happens after Gilmore Girls, late afternoon on the couch, with baby lying on my chest.]
Collecting an enormous pile of medical bills. We have really bad insurance. (This was not the cheap birth I had planned.)
Watching my baby grow too fast. Those newborn pics make me sad. He was so little!
Gazing at, talking to, cooing at, smooshing, kissing, and cuddling baby J as much as he will stand.
Oh I love this little guy.

Oh M! It'll get better! :) Not that I have firsthand experience, but every tells me that. And everyone probably tells you that. I'm so glad you're getting out once a day, I think that's so important! Leave the cleaning, it can wait. Just sleep as much as possible and try and enjoy! Good luck with getting him to sleep more at night!
I've started a compilation CD of sleep aid audio tracks. It's designed to help both babies and mothers fall asleep quickly and for longer periods of time. It consists mainly of me reading excerpts of the history of baroque music in as monotone a voice as I can muster. I think I'm pretty good at keeping inflection to a minimum in my normal conversational voice, but I go the extra mile for this series. I'm getting a little drowsy just thinking about it. Let me know if you want a copy.
