This, that AND THE OTHER

Want to hear what a big blog nerd I am (has anyone coined a term for that yet? you should.)

I keep a list of potential blog topics in a spreadsheet, in case I'm ever stumped for something to say. Please [lie to me and] tell me I'm not the only one.

I just have a few random things on me mind this evening. No spreadsheet necessary.

Nope, my baby is not better. If forced to make an "either/or" decision, I'd say he's worse. I know it could still be swelling, but the doc said that would go down after a day or two. It's been more than that. Argh.

Flurg had a lovely playdate with the lovely Elliott today. I horrified myself by being genuinely jealous that the very advanced (I've always said so) E can already clap, wave, and point. Turns out I have a little "stage mom" in here somewhere. Must be the Texan in me.

Speaking of baby abilities, Flurg is full on standing now, unassisted. He does it for several seconds at a time, but actually prefers to stand ON things. Like the bed, or a pillow, or a book, or my stomach. No joke. I need to get pictures of this.

Can anyone recommend (or warn against) a sewing machine for less than $200? I've decided that I need one, and that is my limit. Thank you. Also, can I come to your house tonight to use yours for 20 minutes? Thanks again.

And if you could also tell me where I can get access to an indoor pool with my baby for less than $50/month? That would be great too. (That's what the local YMCA wants.)

And lastly, I've been meaning to do one-a-them giveaways for a while. Stay tuned....

come and take my sewing machine Marissa. I'm leaving for a whole month and I've used it a total of once since i bought it nearly a year ago.

and yes, i have a little list of potential blog topics (I'm not advanced enough to have a spreadsheet). The sad thing is that I'm never with it enough to actually blog anything off my list.

Your YMCA is only $50 a month!??! I've been trying to find an indoor pool for a while, and ours is like, a ridiculously huge price just to join, PLUS more if you want to attend classes. Poop.

Also, poop about Flurg not being better. I'm praying it's swelling.

Also, could you pass on the sewing machine info you get? :)

And lastly, GENIUS idea about the spreadsheet. :)

I got my sewing machine at Costco for about $100 and it has worked fabulously for my little projects. It's a Brother. Go check it out.

I have a list going right now...on the back of an envelope. :)

Blerd is perfect! I really think that term is gonna take. I'm using it and I'll give you full credit emilyaaa!
The poor flurg :( Get better quicker little guy.

That's crazy! The 50$ I mean! Our local YMCA signed Camper up to be a member for $3 a month, and then I can go with him for free. Did you check for a family rate, or just to let Flurg join? Crazy they would be so different...

i don't have a spreadsheet, but i have been known to jot down ideas in my calendar at night. and many nights i lie in bed and think over the day and start creating posts in my head about our day's events. they are usually the wittiest and most interesting posts-although they never make it to the blog.

so sorry that little j is still struggling! that breaks my heart.

as for sewing machines-i've heard the ones from costco are pretty good (i've even used one once and really liked it) but my mother (an actual sewer) says that they won't last in the long run or do too much heavy duty because they have plastic parts. the better, sturdier machines with metal parts are mucho buckos more, though. so for little projects here and there, i'd say the brother machines at costco should do you. can't wait to see all of your craftiness!

Becky Budge and I both have the Singer 66 stitch machine from Costco. You're welcome to try mine if you want. I really like this machine though I have also heard good things about the brother. Costco has coupons for their machines every so often.. which I used to get mine. I think I have an add laying around somewhere- I will check for you.

I hope little flurg gets better, that's so sad!

Top 3 machines on Amazon are all Brother. I have a Singer and it has done me good.

For most people you can spend about 100 and get a machine that will last you awhile and do what you need. Just make sure it can do buttonholes.

I totally have a list on my iPhone for blog topics. I'm always so afraid of running out of them.

OR I'm afraid that something funny that happened will not be captured in print...so I'm trying to be better about logging the crazy thoughts I have that may, or may not, make it into a blog posting.

ALSO? Thank GOODNESS you came to your senses. You know what I'm talking about. Just to help you out, I'll be clicking through often. I promise.
